The 52 Hindu Children who attended our V.B.S. during our Centenary year in 2005, are God’s gift to Egmore Wesley Church. We did not go to reach them but they came to us eagerly to learn about Bible and know more of Jesus. This project is a land mark in the history of our Church in the centenary year.

In 2005 after the V.B.S. was over we felt the need for a followup. Unlike our Church Children these Hindu kids have no scope to grow in their faith through Weekly Sunday schools. They have no Christian background both at home and in the public schools they attend.

On Nov 5th 2005 with the consent of the Local Church Council we inaugurated weekly Bible classes on every Saturday evening from 4.00 PM to 5.00 PM . More than 50 children regularly come eager to learn Christian songs, memorize Bible portions and hear Bible stories. There is a remarkable change in the lives of these Children. Many stay behind after the class to request for prayer for all the problems and sicknesses they face at home. A few have openly testified that they have accepted Christ and they are able to overcome temptations.

One of the Children found a key chain in the church Compound and gave it to us. A little girl picked up a Rs.5 coin and turned it over saying it did not belong to her.How we praise God for the transformation in the lives of these Children when Christ came into their heart. The spirit of the Lord is working among them to enable them to lead a honest life.

In 2006 these Children were the ready made group for the Tamil V.B.S. The Lord is doing a deeper work in their hearts. They are well behaved and take to the teaching of the scripture seriously. We continued the Saturday Bible class after the V.B.S. as a follow up programme.

My dream to fulfill in this project is to start a weekly worship in Tamil for these Children along with their parents in our Church. May the Lord help us to rise up and build our Church.
